Plastic casings are composed of multiple layers of various plastic materials. Casings with many layers provide high barrier properties, ensuring a long shelf life without affecting the product's taste, freshness, color, or appearance. There are also plastic casings available that are permeable to moisture and smoke; these typically do not feature multiple barrier layers and therefore require secondary packaging. While plastic casings are naturally straight, they can also be ringed (curved) for specific shapes. Plastic casings can be produced in virtually any color and are highly suitable for high-quality printing.
